DIFFICULTY RATING 7
(see below for explanation)
This puzzle is one of the group of interlocking puzzles
called burr puzzles. Pandora's Box is a framed burr
puzzle and the object of the puzzle is to remove the
four pieces from inside the box.
Tadao Muroi (since deceased) designed this framed
burr in Japan in the early 1990s and it is with the kind
permission of his son that the puzzle is still being
made. The puzzle requires twelve sliding moves to remove
the pieces from inside the box. The real puzzle may turn
out to be how to get them back inside the box again
using these 12 moves, although there are other
combinations.

Explanation of Difficulty Rating:
A puzzle with a difficulty rating of 1
is easy to solve and memorize. A puzzle rated as a 10 is
the most difficult to solve and memorize.
In general, a puzzle rated 7 may
require a couple of hours for the average person to
memorize or master. Approximately 60% of people will
never be able solve a puzzle with a difficulty rating of
9 without assistance from the printed solution.
But don't worry, a solution sheet is
included with each puzzle!
